Early 2017 I got a text from a few Australian friends I made on a trip the year before, telling me they were going road tripping through Namibia and Botswana. Their 4×4 still had an empty seat and they asked me if I wanted to fill it… easiest decision ever. A month later I hopped on a plane to Windhoek and experienced an incredible, beautiful, eye-opening few weeks.

Behind the scenes

I only brought one drone for the sake of easy bagage clearance, but soon regretted this when my DJI Mavic had a major hardware failure. With the help of some amazing locals in Livingstone, Zambia I managed to get a hold of probably the only DJI Phantom for sale in the country and could happily capture the second half of our trip. I’m always bringing a spare drone since.

During this trip I’ve also shot a lot of photos I take quite a bit of pride in. You can check them out here.
